Pole Banners 101

Pole Banners 101

Branding the exterior of your building or property is crucial to attracting customers, but as marketers, we are always looking for ways to reach potential customers SOONER! Most organizations have the basics covered (Building signs, lobby signs, monument signs, etc.), but are looking for MORE ways to reinforce our brand. If that’s the case, pole banners might be just the trick!

If you are a hospital, school or university, park district, large retailer, church, or simply a company with a large parking lot or street side frontage, pole banners can add that additional layer of branding you are looking for. Here are a few perks of using pole banners to market your business:

1. You’ll stand out: If interior signage is the ice cream, and exterior signage is the whip cream, pole banners are the cherries on top. Adding pole banners to your parking lot or street lined light poles, gives your organization that extra PUNCH you may be looking for. It allows your audience to see your brand repeatedly, and in a place where they are not normally reached. Adding that extra layer of branding can give you that edge you’re looking for.

You will also see municipalities, villages, or park districts use pole banners to give their downtown areas or parks a “finished look”. Pole banners do an excellent job of reinforcing core values, slogans, well wishes, promotions, and so much more.

2. Easily Adaptable: As your business changes, your pole banners can change with it. Due to the ease of installation, pole banners can be easily swapped out and adapted to market new products, special events, seasonal promotions, logo changes, and the list goes on! It is not uncommon for organizations to have multiple sets of banners that they use throughout the year, that ties into the products or services they are offering during that time.

Pole banners do a great job of marketing, but also can also be used as directional or wayfinding signage. Pole banners do a great job of identifying different areas within a parking lot, which is commonly needed in larger parking lots. Part of the customer experience is finding your way through a facility, and pole banners are an excellent way to bolster that experience.

3. Budget Friendly: Although pole banners pack a punch with your marketing, they won’t drain your budget! They are a great example of a SMALL expense that can do BIG things for your business!
